Asbestos: The Problem

Asbestos in E-Houses is quite a common occurrence. Found mainly in flooring and insulation when the E-House is made in low-cost countries. The mechanical properties of Asbestos add appreciably to a product’s performance, however, the hazards are well known.  

Regulations and controls vary dramatically between countries. Asbestos-free in one country means 0% and in others, it’s less than 2%. In many countries like China, Asbestos is still routinely used in industry.

In most developed countries it is illegal to import product/s containing Asbestos, unfortunately, many companies unknowingly break the law when importing E-Houses in for projects.

EQ-House and its clients are aware of several hundred E-Houses less than 10 years old that have Asbestos in them in Australia alone. The cost to remediate just this small pool could well exceed $150mAUD excluding consequential losses or damages to operating infrastructure.
